Our Nurse Practitioners

This Southern Belle is a native born and raised Texan. She is a Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner since 2004, and Registered Nurse since 1998 with 20+ years of exceptional care and loving on her patients and families in a multitude of inpatient and outpatient settings. Her "calling" and God lead journey to becoming a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner came around 1995 when she took her son to his Pediatricians office and was seen by his phenomenal PNP as she sat down with her and took the necessary time in educating her on what she was diagnosing, why, how to use preventive care in this process in order to treat her son with his acute illness with the most gracious heart, care and concern. 

The rest is... HIStory, as they say. She enrolled into a local nursing school (Howard College) and obtained her LVN certificate in 1997, which then got the ball rolling for her to continue pursuing her RN (ADN) in Nursing from Angelo State University in 1998. While working as a Registered Nurse in Pediatrics at a local hospital (Angelo Community), she truly fell in love with caring for the infants, children and adolescents and found this to be her true passion and calling in life. It was during this time that she worked with an AMAZING soul who worked at the same local hospital named Sabrina Dorris, who was also working as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery. 

Sabrina and Susan both worked hard towards obtaining their master's degrees while raising their sons alongside, both very active in baseball, soccer, hockey and basketball alongside each other, attending church, work and elementary school functions together, never knowing that this "dream of ours, working together at a pediatric practice", would come to fruition. Fast forward to 2024, when after both working as Board Certified Nurse Practitioners at different locations as well as the same for 7 1/2 years, they were extremely blessed to be given the opportunity to open their new Pediatric Clinic (Southern Charm Pediatrics). With many prayers and blessings from God, alongside their supportive loving families, friends, coworkers, patients/families, they are both so very gracious and feel that this blessing to be able to provide the BEST, most compassionate pediatric care to "our local patients and families is what our duty is in our community and professional lives". 

In her spare time, Susan enjoys spending time with her husband Chris, son Chase, family members who all live locally and her sweet pups. She also enjoys volunteering her time with local organizations such as North Texas Food Bank, Frisco Food Pantry, Treasured Vessels Foundation and many other organizations which are dear to her heart. She also enjoys cooking and baking some of her mama and grandma's favorite sweet treats.
